SENIOR QA ENGINEER – API & PERFORMANCE TESTING @ THRIVE IT CONSULTING
Thrive IT Consulting is seeking an experienced Senior QA Engineer to join the team for a hybrid role in Chicago. This position focuses on API and performance testing, requiring the candidate to be onsite from the first day. You will be responsible for ensuring the stability and performance of our digital services, working closely with developers and stakeholders to deliver high-quality software solutions in an Agile environment. This role is open to both C2C and W2 candidates. The ideal candidate will leverage their extensive background in automation to lead testing efforts and maintain robust testing frameworks. You will participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, ensuring that REST APIs and web services meet performance benchmarks through rigorous testing using JMeter. You will also manage integration within the CI/CD pipeline using Jenkins and Git, while using SQL to validate data integrity across our systems. Experience with AWS is considered a strong advantage for this role.
Key Requirements
8–10 years of professional experience in Test Automation
Strong proficiency in Java programming language
Extensive experience with BDD frameworks like Cucumber or Karate
Expertise in REST API and Webservices testing
Proven experience in Performance testing using JMeter
Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and Git
Strong SQL skills for database validation and testing
Experience working in an Agile development environment
Ability to work onsite in Chicago from day one in a hybrid model
Knowledge of AWS cloud services and infrastructure
Capability to handle both W2 and C2C contract arrangements
