The Strand Yangon is currently seeking an experienced and passionate Banquet Manager to join our esteemed team and lead banquet operations at our iconic luxury hotel. As the Banquet Manager, you will be the driving force behind the seamless execution of events, overseeing everything from the initial setup through to service delivery and final breakdown. Your role is vital in ensuring that every guest experience is exceptional and reflects the high standards of service for which The Strand is renowned. Located in Kyauktada Township, this role offers a unique opportunity to work within one of Yangon's most historic environments. In addition to operational oversight, you will be responsible for leading, scheduling, and training a diverse banquet team to achieve peak performance. You will monitor budgets, manage labor costs, and oversee inventory to maximize the profitability of the department. By coordinating closely with the culinary and service departments, you will ensure the flawless execution of all meetings and events, while maintaining strict compliance with health, safety, and operational policies.
Key Requirements
Proven experience in banquet or event management within hotels or hospitality environments
Strong leadership and team management skills
Excellent organizational and communication abilities
Solid knowledge of cost control, budgeting, and food & beverage operations
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple events simultaneously
Guest-focused mindset with a commitment to service excellence
Fluency in English for effective communication with international guests and stakeholders
Proficiency in hospitality management software and POS systems
Availability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
In-depth knowledge of local health and safety regulations for food and beverage operations
