SOFTWARE QA ENGINEER II - KAFKA AND MQTT @ TECHNOVAL ALLIANCE
TechnoVal Alliance is seeking a Software QA Engineer II specializing in Kafka and MQTT for a long-term onsite role in Holtsville, NY. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing, developing, designing, and maintaining comprehensive test cases for organizational products and systems. This role involves performing system integration of software and hardware to maintain throughput and program consistency, while also developing and validating user documentation and test strategies. You will work closely with Product Owners and development teams to understand QA needs and ensure high-quality software releases through established Agile processes.
In this position, you will design and maintain manual and automated scripts for browser, mobile, and API testing environments. Key responsibilities include executing various testing activities such as functional, regression, and performance testing within a physical lab environment. You will lead QA-related project tasks, mentor junior team members, and manage CI/CD pipelines to support automated builds and deployments. The role requires a candidate who is a self-starter with excellent communication skills, capable of establishing strong working relationships across cross-functional teams and contributing to release planning and root cause analysis.

Key Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
At least 5 years of professional experience in manual and automated software testing.
Strong proficiency in Java programming and automated testing using Junit.
Hands-on experience with messaging protocols and platforms such as Kafka and MQTT.
Experience with containerization technologies including Devcontainers, Docker, and Kubernetes.
Proficiency working with databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Cassandra.
Extensive experience operating and testing within both Windows and Linux environments.
Proven ability to test RESTful APIs using tools like Postman or similar technologies.
Solid understanding of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) using Jenkins.
Experience performing root cause analysis, ticket documentation, and Agile release planning.
