JUNIOR TECHNICIAN – MINING INSTRUMENTATION & CONTROL SYSTEMS @ TECHNICAL PLACEMENTS
Technical Placements is hiring a Junior Technician for Mining Instrumentation & Control Systems to operate within the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The successful candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end process of preparing control systems, from workshop wiring to on-site commissioning at remote mine locations. You will be troubleshooting electronics and ensuring that specialized monitoring systems are functioning correctly to support mining operations.
Candidates must be willing to travel extensively throughout the DRC and other parts of Africa. The role involves working in challenging environments such as underground mines and at significant heights. A strong logical mindset and the ability to solve complex technical problems on the fly are essential for success in this demanding engineering environment.

Key Requirements
N6 or Technical Matric qualification in Electronics.
Demonstrated logical fault-finding and troubleshooting ability.
Previous experience in instrumentation or a related technical field.
Valid driver’s licence and possession of own reliable transport.
Ability to pass comprehensive mine medical examinations and security clearances.
Willingness to travel extensively to various mining locations.
Capability to work effectively underground and at various heights.
Proficiency in building, wiring, and testing industrial control systems.
Experience with specialized monitoring and weighing equipment.
Ability to adapt to challenging on-site living and working conditions.
