SITE CIVIL ENGINEER @ TALENTCONNECT
Talentconnect is actively seeking a professional Site Civil Engineer to lead and oversee construction projects in Mwanza. The primary focus of this role is to supervise and coordinate daily site activities, ensuring that all works are performed according to approved architectural drawings, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), and technical specifications. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining high engineering standards and ensuring that all construction activities comply with Tanzanian building regulations and project-specific requirements. This role demands a proactive individual who can manage subcontractors, fundis, and site personnel while maintaining strict timelines.
In addition to technical supervision, the Site Civil Engineer will handle critical administrative and safety tasks. This includes conducting routine site inspections for quality assurance, inspecting and approving incoming materials, and enforcing OSHA Tanzania health and safety regulations through toolbox meetings and PPE management. The role also involves the preparation of detailed daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports, the measurement of completed works for Interim Payment Certificates (IPCs), and the verification of variation orders. As a registered Professional Engineer, you will take full responsibility for signing off on engineering works and resolving technical issues as they arise on-site.

Key Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from a recognized institution.
Must be a registered Professional Engineer (PE) with the Engineers Registration Board (ERB) Tanzania.
Proven experience in supervising large-scale site construction activities and managing site personnel.
In-depth knowledge of Tanzanian building regulations, codes, and technical standards.
Ability to accurately interpret and review structural drawings and resolve complex technical issues.
Strong understanding of Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and material specification standards.
Experience in measuring completed works and preparing Interim Payment Certificates (IPCs).
Thorough knowledge of OSHA Tanzania health and safety regulations and site safety protocols.
Excellent reporting skills with the ability to prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress documentation.
Proficiency in project management and engineering software such as AutoCAD and MS Project.
