STAFF EMBEDDED/FIRMWARE ENGINEER (GUI/CPU/RTMCU) @ SKALEN SEMI
Skalen Semi is seeking a highly skilled Staff Embedded/Firmware Engineer to join our team, working directly with a large-scale IT and design services hyperscaler. This role is pivotal in developing advanced solutions across GUI, CPU, and RTMCU platforms. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in high-level system architecture and low-level firmware implementation, contributing to the development of cutting-edge SoC technology and real-time operating systems. Possible work locations for this role include California (CA) and Massachusetts (MA).
The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of technical tasks including device driver development, MCU porting, and the integration of complex hardware components like camera systems, touch panels, and audio systems. The position requires a deep understanding of security engineering, inter-processor communication, and internationalization standards such as IEC60601. You will also utilize hardware debugging tools like oscilloscopes and work with various protocols including MQTT and Hypervisors like Jailhouse to ensure robust and secure system performance.

Key Requirements
Minimum of 6 to 12 years of professional experience in Embedded and Firmware engineering.
Proven expertise in C++ and Embedded C programming languages.
Extensive experience with the QT Framework and QML for advanced GUI development.
Deep knowledge of Linux development environments and the Yocto Project.
Proficiency in ARM architectures, specifically ARM Cortex and i.MX93 series.
Strong experience with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) such as WindRiver or FreeRTOS.
Demonstrated ability in Device Driver development and Main CPU/MCU porting.
Experience with hardware-level debugging using tools such as Oscilloscopes and PID control systems.
Knowledge of communication protocols and system security, including MQTT and Jailhouse Hypervisors.
Familiarity with industry standards like IEC60601 for medical or specialized electronics.
Ability to work on complex SoC development and Inter-Processor Communication (IPC).
