DATA CENTER CHIEF ENGINEER @ SILVERFOX STAFFS
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Center Chief Engineer to join an innovative start-up based in the Atlanta Metro area. This is a critical leadership role responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of our data center infrastructure. The successful candidate will oversee all technical operations, ensuring high availability, security, and efficiency of the facility while managing a team of technical professionals. You will be tasked with developing operational protocols and disaster recovery plans to safeguard the integrity of our hardware and data systems during this exciting growth phase.
In addition to technical oversight, the Chief Engineer will collaborate with executive leadership to align infrastructure capabilities with business goals. This involves managing vendor relationships, supervising facility upgrades, and ensuring compliance with all local and international data center standards. The role requires a hands-on approach to troubleshooting complex electrical and cooling systems while fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement within the engineering team. Key Requirements
Extensive experience in data center operations and infrastructure management.
Proven expertise in managing critical power systems including UPS, PDU, and generators.
Deep understanding of cooling technologies and HVAC systems specific to data centers.
Strong leadership skills with experience managing technical engineering teams.
Knowledge of data center design standards and regulatory compliance requirements.
Ability to develop and execute comprehensive preventative maintenance programs.
Proficiency in monitoring tools and Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) software.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to respond to emergencies 24/7.
Experience in vendor management and negotiating service level agreements.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Strong communication skills for reporting to executive stakeholders.
