The Community Advocacy & Outreach Manager role is a pivotal position designed to build power and drive systemic change across Washington. The successful candidate will lead statewide community engagement initiatives, shaping legislative advocacy and working closely in coalition with 2SLGBTQIA+, BIPOC, low-income, and rural communities. You will be responsible for translating community needs into concrete policy actions and ensuring that the voices of those most impacted by the legal system are heard in the halls of power.

Key responsibilities include leading advocacy efforts during legislative sessions, tracking bills, and coordinating testimony while working directly with lawmakers. You will also represent QLaw in various coalitions and public forums, manage communications such as action alerts and media relations, and sustain deep partnerships across the state. This full-time position offers a salary range of $65,000–$72,000 plus benefits and is a remote, Washington-based role requiring some travel.

Key Requirements

Lead advocacy efforts during legislative sessions including tracking bills and coordinating testimony. Build and sustain community partnerships across the entire state of Washington. Represent the organization in various coalitions and diverse public spaces. Shape and manage organizational communications such as action alerts and public education materials. Translate community needs and lived experiences into policy proposals and actions. Work collaboratively with lawmakers and legislative staff to drive change. Coordinate with 2SLGBTQIA+, BIPOC, immigrant, and rural community members. Demonstrated experience in navigating or understanding the legal system. Ability to manage a full-time workload of 35 hours per week in a non-exempt capacity. Capacity for regular travel within the state to meet with stakeholders and partners.
