We are looking for a seasoned Workshop Manager and Fleet Maintenance Manager to lead workshop operations and ensure maximum fleet uptime for a large-scale transport operation in Tanzania. This role involves managing a fleet size of over 600 heavy commercial trucks and overseeing a large team of technicians and supervisors. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end maintenance cycle, ensuring that all vehicles are in peak operational condition to meet the demands of the transportation and trucking industry in East Africa. The core duties include Preventive Maintenance Planning (PMS) and execution, breakdown control, and significant downtime reduction. You will handle spare parts planning, inventory management, and vendor coordination while managing OEM relationships and warranties. Financial oversight is a key part of the role, including maintenance cost control and budgeting. Additionally, the manager will be responsible for MIS, KPIs, and fleet performance reporting, ensuring all operations remain in compliance with HSSEQ and statutory regulations. The position requires a strong leader with high-level reporting skills and technical expertise in heavy vehicle maintenance.

Key Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering. 10 to 15 years of professional experience in fleet maintenance management. Proven experience handling a fleet of 500+ Heavy Commercial Vehicles (HCV). Strong expertise in Preventive Maintenance Planning (PMS) and execution. Demonstrated ability in breakdown control and downtime reduction strategies. Experience in workshop and team management, including technicians and supervisors. Proficiency in spare parts planning, inventory management, and vendor coordination. Expertise in OEM management and warranty claim processing. Strong financial acumen for maintenance cost control and budgeting. Ability to generate and analyze MIS, KPIs, and fleet performance reports. Deep knowledge of HSSEQ standards and statutory compliance requirements. Willingness to commit to a long-term international assignment in Africa.
