GENERAL MANAGER – PLASTICS MANUFACTURING @ PLACON HR SERVICES
We are seeking a seasoned and strategic leader to take on the role of General Manager for a prominent PVC & HDPE Pipes and Fittings manufacturing division in Tanzania. This critical position involves full P&L responsibility and requires a visionary individual capable of leading greenfield projects from the ground up. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the entire manufacturing operation, ensuring that production targets are met while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety. As the General Manager, you will focus on operational excellence, business expansion, and driving long-term profitability and innovation. You will play a key role in strategic planning and execution, managing technical teams, and optimizing the use of advanced machinery such as Husky, Sacmi, and Milacron systems. Key Requirements
15+ years in plastics manufacturing.
5+ years handling Profit & Loss (P&L) responsibility.
Strong exposure to PVC, HDPE, pipes, and fittings manufacturing.
Proven experience leading greenfield projects from inception to operation.
Familiarity with Husky, Sacmi, or Milacron machinery is highly preferred.
Previous working experience within Africa is a significant advantage.
Ability to drive strategic leadership and operational excellence.
Strong track record in business expansion and profitability growth.
Expertise in manufacturing innovation and process optimization.
Excellent team leadership and stakeholder management skills.
