SENIOR HSE ENGINEER @ PHARCO CORPORATION
Pharco Corporation is seeking a Senior HSE Engineer to lead and manage the full Health, Safety, and Environment function at their manufacturing site. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring strict compliance with local regulations and international standards such as ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and OSHA. Key activities include driving process safety and risk management through hazard identification, HAZOP, JSA, and Management of Change (MOC). You will also oversee incident investigations, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions across the facility. The role is based in Borg al arab, Alexandria, and focuses on maintaining a high standard of safety in a pharmaceutical and chemical manufacturing environment. Other duties involve ensuring the safe handling, storage, and disposal of chemicals and pharmaceutical materials in accordance with environmental requirements. You will lead emergency preparedness plans, conduct safety audits, and manage contractor safety compliance to foster a strong safety culture across all departments. This is a critical role for maintaining operational excellence and safeguarding the well-being of all employees and the surrounding environment.
Key Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Environmental Science, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in HSE.
Mandatory previous experience in chemical manufacturing or the pharmaceutical industry.
Strong working knowledge of HSE basics including OSHA, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001.
Professional HSE certification such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or OSHA is highly preferred.
Proven ability to lead and manage full HSE functions at a large manufacturing site.
Expertise in driving process safety and risk management activities like HAZOP and JSA.
Experience conducting root cause analysis (RCA) and implementing corrective actions.
Competency in the safe handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous chemicals.
Ability to lead emergency preparedness plans and promote a strong safety culture among staff.
Excellent communication and leadership skills to manage contractor safety and cross-departmental audits.
