SENIOR BACKUP ENGINEER (L3) @ PANASIA GROUP
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Backup Engineer (L3) to join a mission-critical infrastructure team for a leading banking client. In this role, you will be responsible for managing enterprise-scale backup solutions and ensuring data integrity across the organization. This is a yearly extendable contract position based onsite in Kuala Lumpur, specifically looking for Malaysian citizens with extensive experience in financial sector infrastructure. Your primary focus will be on the administration, troubleshooting, and optimization of backup environments using industry-standard tools. You will collaborate with other IT departments to implement robust disaster recovery strategies and maintain high availability of services. This role requires a proactive approach to identifying potential risks and implementing automated solutions to streamline backup operations. Candidates must be comfortable working in a high-pressure banking environment where system uptime is critical.
Key Requirements
8-11 years of relevant professional experience in IT infrastructure.
Expertise in Enterprise backup solutions such as Veritas NetBackup and Veeam.
Hands-on experience with storage hardware including Data Domain and ExaGrid.
Deep understanding of backup architecture and disaster recovery planning.
Ability to troubleshoot complex L3-level technical issues in a timely manner.
Experience working within a mission-critical banking or financial environment.
Proficiency in monitoring system performance and performing regular health checks.
Strong documentation skills for maintaining standard operating procedures.
Knowledge of server environments including MidRange and Wintel systems.
Malaysian citizenship is required for this specific onsite role.
