Orelysis is seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Chemist to join our team in Mwanza, Tanzania. This full-time role within the Laboratory Services and Mining industry focuses on analytical chemistry and ensuring the highest standards of technical excellence. The ideal candidate will work within a dynamic environment, playing a critical role in laboratory accreditation and compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 quality systems. The position involves working with advanced laboratory equipment and maintaining strict adherence to safety and sample integrity protocols. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing routine and advanced chemical analyses, maintaining the Laboratory Quality Management System (QMS), and conducting method validations. Other duties include participating in internal audits, implementing corrective actions, and adhering to strict safety protocols. Key Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or a related science field.
Minimum 3 years of professional experience in an analytical laboratory environment.
Demonstrated knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025:2017 requirements and laboratory accreditation.
Proven experience with method validation, quality control charts, and CRMs.
Hands-on experience with instruments such as AAS, ICP-OES, XRF, or titrators.
Ability to prepare, review, and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Proficiency in measurement uncertainty calculations and instrument calibration procedures.
Experience participating in internal audits and proficiency testing schemes.
Strong attention to detail with excellent documentation and problem-solving abilities.
Strict adherence to safety, sample integrity, and good laboratory practices (GLP).
