The Area Sales Manager (Wine and Spirit) is a full-time field sales position requiring a dedicated professional to manage market activities and drive business growth across various territories. The role involves a minimum of six hours of daily market work, focusing on extensive market coverage across all available channels. Key responsibilities include ensuring full product portfolio placement, enhancing product visibility at eye level, managing merchandising efforts, and placing point-of-sale materials effectively. The successful candidate will communicate pricing and promotions to outlets, ensuring compliance with route plans and overall company objectives to grow the business in designated areas. Potential work locations for this role within Nigeria include Kano, Jos, Abuja, Benin, Oshogbo, Kwara, Ekiti, Ogun, Lagos, Calabar, Uyo, Aba, Port Harcourt, and Enugu.

Primary duties include driving numeric distribution, specifically focusing on acquiring new customers and appointing Key Distributors in previously uncovered geographies. The manager will build and influence close partnerships with customers to meet monthly, quarterly, and annual growth targets through transparent communication and regular follow-ups. Additionally, the role requires the submission of accurate weekly competition intelligence reports and proactive problem-solving regarding customer issues and sales performance data. The candidate must ensure 100% compliance with daily route coverage plans and achieve all monthly KPIs as set by the Regional Sales Manager and Business Manager.

Key Requirements

Candidates must have proven experience in the wine and spirit distribution industry. Ability to perform a minimum of 6 hours of daily market work in a field-based role. Demonstrated expertise in driving numeric distribution and expanding market share. Strong ability to identify new growth opportunities across diverse geographic markets. Experience in appointing and managing Key Distributors (KDs) in uncovered areas. Excellent relationship-building skills to influence customers and deliver growth objectives. Proficiency in product merchandising and the effective placement of POSM materials. Capability to generate and submit accurate weekly competition intelligence reports. Strong analytical skills to evaluate sales data and implement creative solutions. Willingness to ensure 100% compliance with daily outlet coverage and route plans.
