The HSE Engineer will be responsible for conducting regular inspections and site visits across various operational sites including gas distribution stations, pipelines, and scaffoldings. This role involves verifying compliance with safety and environmental regulations, inspecting equipment, and identifying potential hazards or unsafe practices to ensure a safe working environment. The position is based in Egypt, with work locations including October in Giza and Al-Muqattam in Cairo. Daily operations will involve monitoring employee adherence to safety protocols, including the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE). The engineer will also be tasked with conducting emergency response drills, reviewing maintenance activities for safety, and investigating any incidents or near-misses. Detailed reports and recommendations must be prepared following site visits to drive continuous improvement in safety standards.
Key Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering or Science.
2 to 5 years of HSE experience specifically in construction sites or oil and gas companies.
Possession of OSH certificates such as NIOSH, OSHA, or NEBOSH IGC.
Extensive knowledge of ISO standards including 9001, 14001, 45001, and 50001.
Proven ability to carry out comprehensive risk assessments and review HSE plans.
Expertise in fire-fighting and fire alarm system design and codes.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office package, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
Solid knowledge of Egyptian labor law and environmental regulations.
Valid driving license with a strong understanding of safe driving basics.
Ability to conduct HSE training sessions and provide on-the-spot guidance to employees.
