We are seeking a highly skilled Cassandra Database Admin or Architect to join a high-impact team in Austin, TX. In this role, you will be responsible for owning, optimizing, and scaling mission-critical Cassandra databases across cloud (AWS/GCP), hybrid, and on-premise environments. You will lead enterprise-scale operations, driving performance tuning, benchmarking, and ensuring high availability for critical systems. This is a fast-paced, high-visibility role where you will work with cutting-edge technologies to make a measurable impact every day.

Your day-to-day responsibilities include platform deployment, patching, change management, and monitoring solution deployment. You will be tasked with database hardening and implementing robust restore/recovery procedures to maintain security and reliability. Beyond technical execution, you will provide expert guidance to technical and project teams, mentoring others and influencing best practices across the organization. This position requires a blend of deep technical expertise in NoSQL databases and strong collaboration skills to succeed in a cross-functional environment.

Key Requirements

8+ years of professional experience in Cassandra database administration or architecture. Expert level knowledge and hands-on experience with NoSQL databases. Proven experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS and/or GCP. Deep understanding of Linux OS and system administration. Familiarity with DevOps tools including GitLab, Terraform, and Datadog. Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills. Demonstrated ability to perform database hardening and implement security practices. Experience in platform deployment, patching, and change management processes. Ability to manage incidents, alerts, and third-party support interactions effectively. Experience with DataStax Enterprise Cassandra, Kubernetes, or Docker is highly preferred.
