L&T Technology Services is seeking a dedicated Manufacturing Engineer specialized in heavy trucks to join our team in Saitama, Japan. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing various projects and maintenance tasks, which include checking design change data and 2D/3D drawings to provide critical feedback to the design team. You will be tasked with the preparation and consideration of equipment, tools, and fixtures necessary for production, as well as developing comprehensive documentation to inform the production staff. This role involves hands-on support during equipment installation, prototype building, and production attendance to ensure smooth operations and high-quality outputs.

In addition to technical duties, you will play a key role in project management by reporting directly to the line manager and project manager. Key deliverables include evaluating 3D data, adjusting parts and processes with production members, and implementing new equipment on the floor. You will be expected to analyze existing operations using tools like time studies and line balancing to drive continuous process improvements. The role also requires collaboration during the New Product Development phase to ensure designs adhere to manufacturing principles. Documentation upkeep, including tooling lists and standard work instructions, is essential to maintain operational standards and meet project objectives efficiently.

Key Requirements

Manufacturing engineering development experience. Good communication skills in both English and Japanese (Minimum N2 level). Capability to support project teams efficiently to meet project objectives. Knowledge and experience with the Stamping process. Knowledge and experience with the Welding process. Ability to analyze existing operations and initiate process improvements. Proficiency in time studies, line balancing, and process mapping tools. Experience planning for assembly equipment, fixtures, and production cells. Participation in New Product Development (NPD) and Design for Manufacturing (DFM). Ability to create and update manufacturing process documentation and setup requirements. Experience using Creo software for engineering design tasks.
