The role is a Test Automation Engineer IV position, focused on supporting a direct financial client in Cincinnati, OH. This is a long-term contract role offered only on a W2 basis. The primary responsibilities involve collaborating closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to thoroughly understand the complex application flows that require automation. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating robust, automated test steps, strictly adhering to best practices centered on reusability, maintainability, and ease-of-use. Furthermore, the engineer will be expected to support and maintain existing automation scripts, ensuring they remain relevant and functional as application changes occur. Candidates must possess strong foundational skills in Java and demonstrate a minimum of four years of experience specifically in web automation. Proficiency includes creating new Java classes using object-oriented principles, utilizing Java collections, and handling exceptions effectively. A deep familiarity with Selenium WebDriver syntax and methods is crucial, along with the ability to identify and select unique locators, including writing custom xpaths. Experience utilizing the Cucumber test automation framework, or an equivalent Maven-based framework, is highly preferred.
