GENDER AND EDUCATION SPECIALIST (REGIONAL-EAST AFRICA) @ INDEPTH RESEARCH
Indepth Research is seeking a highly skilled Gender and Education Specialist for the East Africa region, specifically targeting candidates based in or willing to work within Uganda. This strategic role is pivotal in advancing gender-responsive and inclusive education practices. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership, ensuring that research and programming align with national and regional frameworks. By leading comparative gender analyses and supporting capacity-building initiatives across country teams, you will help drive meaningful educational impact at scale. The position requires a professional with a robust background in gender mainstreaming and education policy. You will be responsible for providing technical guidance, fostering collaboration among stakeholders, and representing the organization in regional forums. This role involves significant regional travel to oversee projects in Uganda, Tanzania, and Rwanda. Key Requirements
Master's degree in Gender Studies, Education, Social Sciences, or a related field.
Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in gender-responsive education programming.
Extensive knowledge of national and regional education frameworks within East Africa.
Proven expertise in leading comparative gender analyses and research methodology.
Demonstrated experience in strategic and technical leadership for international development projects.
Strong capacity-building and training skills for diverse multidisciplinary teams.
Excellent proficiency in English, both written and verbal, for technical reporting.
Previous experience working with regional bodies or international NGOs in East Africa.
Availability and willingness to travel frequently across Uganda, Tanzania, and Rwanda.
Advanced project management skills with a focus on impact at scale.
