HRFIRST is currently seeking a highly experienced professional for the role of Head of Taxation on behalf of a prominent client in the automobile industry based in Karachi. This leadership position is critical for managing the organization's tax profile, ensuring full compliance with local and international regulations while optimizing the tax strategy to support overall business objectives. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the financial leadership team, contributing to the long-term fiscal health of the company.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all direct and indirect tax matters, including strategic planning and risk management. Key duties involve managing relationships with tax authorities and external auditors, as well as leading and mentoring a dedicated tax team. Candidates must possess significant expertise in Pakistan’s tax laws and demonstrate a track record of leadership within the manufacturing or automotive sectors. This role requires a blend of technical tax expertise and strategic business acumen to navigate the complex regulatory environment effectively.

Key Requirements
Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) certification is mandatory.
Minimum of 10 to 12 years of progressive experience in taxation roles.
Prior experience working within the manufacturing or automotive sector is highly preferred.
Comprehensive knowledge of Pakistan’s tax laws and regulatory framework.
Strong understanding of international taxation principles and cross-border transactions.
Proven ability to develop and implement effective tax strategies aligned with corporate goals.
Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
Demonstrated leadership capabilities to manage and mentor a professional tax team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with regulatory bodies.
Experience in managing relationships with external auditors and tax authorities.
