This role is crucial for developing precise 2D/3D CNC programs using the specialized CATIA V5 Manufacturing Module. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating sophisticated machining strategies, primarily focusing on 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis milling applications. A core part of the role involves optimizing tool paths to ensure maximum efficiency in terms of cycle time, tool life, and achieving superior surface finish, directly contributing to the quality of aerospace components.

Key responsibilities also encompass the detailed preparation of all necessary documentation, including generating setup sheets and comprehensive tool lists. The CAM Programmer must possess strong analytical skills to interpret complex engineering drawings, understand Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), and work with 3D CAD models. Furthermore, this role requires proactive identification of potential manufacturability issues, proposing relevant design or process improvements, standardizing CAM templates and best practices, and actively participating in cost optimization initiatives. Staying current with CATIA V5 upgrades and new machining technologies is essential for continuous improvement in this challenging aerospace environment.

Key Requirements

Possess a Diploma or BTech in Mechanical Engineering or Production Engineering. Minimum 3 years of practical experience as a CAM Programmer utilizing CATIA V5. Demonstrate strong proficiency and expertise in CATIA V5 – CAM / Manufacturing modules. Experience working within the Aerospace industry is highly preferred. Ability to create accurate 2D/3D CNC programs using CATIA V5 (Manufacturing Module). Experience in developing effective machining strategies for 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis milling applications. Proficiency in interpreting complex engineering drawings, GD&T standards, and 3D CAD models. Familiarity with optimizing tool paths for cycle time, tool life, and surface finish. Skill in generating comprehensive setup sheets, tool lists, and machining documentation. Ability to identify manufacturability issues and propose relevant design or process improvements.
