Elite Bridge Technologies is seeking a skilled Mainframe Modernization Developer for a hybrid role located in Sacramento, CA. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing complex business requirements and translating them into robust technical specifications and mainframe program logic. This position involves designing, developing, and maintaining critical applications utilizing COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, and VSAM technologies, specifically within the CA-MMIS framework. Experience in healthcare claims processing is highly advantageous for this role. This is a W2 position with a rate of $65/hr.
In addition to traditional mainframe maintenance, the developer will play a key role in modernization efforts, including the migration of mainframe applications to various cloud platforms such as z-cloud. This requires proficiency in a wide range of modern technologies, including Java, JSON, APIs, Microservices, and Kubernetes. The candidate will also support DevOps practices and ensure network security while working with Edge Computing and SaaS solutions. The role demands an ability to perform comprehensive unit, integration, and regression testing to ensure the stability of migrated and modernized systems.
Key Requirements
Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in mainframe applications.
Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare claims processing is highly preferred.
Strong ability to analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
Proven experience in designing and developing COBOL, JCL, and CICS applications.
Technical proficiency in DB2 and VSAM-based CA-MMIS mainframe systems.
Capability to perform thorough unit, integration, and regression testing.
Expertise in mainframe modernization strategies and z-cloud migration.
Solid programming skills in Java and experience with JSON and API development.
Hands-on experience with Microservices, Kubernetes, and DevOps workflows.
Familiarity with WebSphere, MQ, network security, and Edge Computing.
Ability to work in a hybrid environment in Sacramento, CA.
