Diverse Lynx is currently seeking a highly skilled Senior Kafka Administrator with a strong focus on automation to join our team. This role involves managing and scaling high-availability Kafka environments for enterprise-level operations. The ideal candidate will have over a decade of experience and will be responsible for automating deployments using modern tools like Ansible, Terraform, and Python. You will work closely with Kubernetes and OpenShift platforms to ensure seamless Confluent Platform integration. Possible work locations for this onsite role include Tampa, Florida, and Jersey City, New Jersey.

The position requires a deep understanding of Kafka security, including the implementation of SASL/SSL, RBAC, and Kerberos, to protect sensitive data streams. Candidates will be expected to monitor system health using Prometheus and Grafana while managing critical components like Schema Registry and ClusterLink. Success in this role requires expertise in KRaft mode and advanced topic/partition management. As part of our team, you will contribute to building robust disaster recovery setups and optimizing replication across global clusters to maintain system integrity and performance.

Key Requirements

Minimum of 10 years of experience in systems administration or specialized Kafka management. Proven expertise in automating Kafka deployments using tools like Ansible and Terraform. Experience with GitOps methodologies and scripting languages such as Python for infrastructure automation. Ability to deploy and manage Confluent Platform (CFK) within Kubernetes or OpenShift environments. Proficiency in monitoring tools including Prometheus, Grafana, and JMX for performance tracking. Solid understanding of security protocols such as SASL/SSL, RBAC, ACLs, TLS, and Kerberos. Hands-on experience managing Kafka Connect, Schema Registry, ClusterLink, and disaster recovery (DR) setups. Technical depth in KRaft mode, including migration and management of metadata without ZooKeeper. Advanced skills in topic management, partition strategy, and data replication across clusters. Excellent communication skills to collaborate with DevOps and SRE teams on high-availability systems.
