The Sr. Contract Management Specialist role involves the comprehensive oversight and administration of contract lifecycles within a major organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and implementation of governance frameworks, supporting procedures, and standardized procurement templates. Primary duties include drafting and negotiating complex agreements, particularly those related to IT, construction, and general services. Furthermore, the role requires managing claims and disputes effectively, which includes the drafting of legally sound settlement agreements to protect organizational interests. This role is a 12-month contract position requiring 35 hours of work per week.

This position is a 100% on-site role located in Oshawa, offering an hourly rate of $107. Candidates are expected to possess significant professional maturity, bringing 10 to 15 years of experience to the table. Key assets for this role include a background in large-scale government infrastructure projects within the transportation or energy sectors. The specialist will interact with all levels of the organization, necessitating top-tier presentation and communication skills to navigate procurement modernization and transformation initiatives successfully. The work location is 1908 Colonel Sam Drive, Oshawa.

Key Requirements

Degree, diploma or certification in law, paralegal, contract management or a similar program. Minimum of 10 to 15 years of experience performing contract management responsibilities in a senior capacity. Sound knowledge of Supply Chain functions from inception to completion (cradle to grave). Proven experience in drafting and negotiating agreements for IT, construction, and general services. Expertise in administration and management of claims and disputes, including drafting settlement agreements. Excellent written and oral communication skills suitable for all organizational levels. Senior-level presentation skills with the ability to influence stakeholders. Strong understanding of procurement modernization and transformation processes. Background in business administration is considered a significant asset. Experience in large infrastructure projects within government organizations like transportation or energy.
