MECHANICAL ENGINEER @ CONNECT TECH TALENT
This position is for a Mechanical Engineer on a 6-month contract basis located in Austin, Texas. The successful candidate will be responsible for the mechanical design and implementation of next-generation Internet of Things (IoT) devices, focusing on creating innovative and robust hardware solutions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to bring concepts from the prototyping stage through to full-scale production, ensuring high quality and performance standards are met throughout the development cycle.
Key responsibilities include designing enclosures and ruggedized housings, selecting appropriate materials for industrial environments, and managing thermal aspects of electronic devices. The role requires deep expertise in Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA), particularly with injection molding and die casting processes. You will utilize SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software to create detailed models and documentation, ensuring all designs meet IP-rated sealing requirements and are optimized for durability and scalability.
