Axia is looking for a dedicated and skilled Support & Implementation Engineer specializing in Alternate Banking Channels to join our technical team in Dar es Salaam. This role is pivotal in ensuring the stability and growth of digital banking platforms, focusing on the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of diverse electronic delivery channels. The selected candidate will be responsible for bridging the gap between technical infrastructure and operational delivery, ensuring that financial services are accessible and reliable for all end-users.

The position involves providing high-level technical support, troubleshooting complex system issues, and managing the end-to-end implementation of new banking features and integrations. You will work closely with various stakeholders to align technical solutions with business objectives, perform regular system audits, and ensure compliance with security standards. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of financial technology and contribute to the digital transformation of the banking sector in the region.

Key Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related engineering field. At least 3 years of experience in technical support or system implementation within the banking or fintech sector. In-depth knowledge of Alternate Banking Channels such as ATM, Mobile Banking, and Internet Banking. Proficiency in database querying and management using SQL Server or Oracle. Strong understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, Firewalls, and VPNs. Experience with server environments such as Linux/Unix and Windows Server. Familiarity with banking communication protocols like ISO 8583 and web services (REST/SOAP). Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve software bugs. Strong project management skills to handle multiple implementations simultaneously. Exceptional communication skills in English and Swahili for effective client engagement. Ability to work under pressure and provide on-call support during system maintenance windows.
