Akbar Travels of Africa is seeking a dedicated and passionate Tours Consultant to join our dynamic team in Dar es Salaam. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating unforgettable travel experiences for our clients by providing expert advice, planning detailed itineraries, and managing all aspects of travel reservations. This role involves direct interaction with customers to understand their needs and deliver high-quality service that exceeds their expectations. The position requires a candidate who can work efficiently within the fast-paced travel and tourism industry. Beyond itinerary management, the Tours Consultant will handle negotiations with suppliers to ensure the best value for our clients and provide comprehensive support regarding visa requirements and documentation. We are looking for a professional who is not only knowledgeable about global and local travel trends but also possesses the sales acumen to close deals effectively. Key Requirements
Minimum of 2 to 3 years of professional experience in the travel and tourism industry.
Proven proficiency in comprehensive itinerary planning and travel reservations.
Strong supplier management and effective negotiation skills to secure best deals.
Excellent customer interaction and sales closing abilities for diverse client bases.
In-depth knowledge of both domestic Tanzanian and international travel destinations.
Expertise in providing accurate visa information and handling complex documentation.
Must be a Tanzanian national as per the specific citizenship requirements.
Smart, presentable, and highly professional appearance in a client-facing environment.
Strong service-oriented mindset with a genuine passion for the global travel sector.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Swahili.
Ability to multitask and work effectively under pressure to meet monthly sales targets.
Proficiency in using travel booking software and global distribution systems.
