GENERATOR TECHNICIAN @ AFRICAB
We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Generator Technician to join our professional team in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The successful candidate will be responsible for the comprehensive oversight of diesel generator sets, which includes the installation, testing, and commissioning of units. You will play a critical role in ensuring operational reliability by performing both preventive and breakdown maintenance. This position requires a technician who can navigate complex electrical and mechanical systems to ensure that our power solutions meet the highest standards of efficiency.
In this role, you will also be tasked with troubleshooting intricate electrical and mechanical faults, servicing ATS (Automatic Transfer Switches), and maintaining control panels. A significant part of your duties will involve conducting load testing and generating detailed technical reports for every site visit. We are looking for a professional with a strong engineering background and specific experience with international brands such as Perkins, Cummins, and CAT. This is a full-time position that offers a challenging environment for a technician with a proven track record in the power generation industry.

Key Requirements
Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution.
A minimum of 5–7 years of hands-on experience as a Generator Technician.
Extensive technical knowledge of diesel generators and associated electrical systems.
Proven proficiency in the installation, testing, and commissioning of generators.
Demonstrated experience in conducting preventive and breakdown maintenance.
Advanced skills in troubleshooting complex electrical and mechanical faults.
Experience in servicing ATS (Automatic Transfer Switch) and control panels.
Ability to perform comprehensive load testing and provide detailed site reports.
Specific hands-on experience working with Perkins, Cummins, and CAT engines.
Strong diagnostic, technical, and analytical problem-solving skills.
