PROJECT LEAD/ PROJECT MANAGER @ ABACUS SERVICE
This is a hybrid contract position based in Austin, TX, for a Project Lead or Project Manager. The successful candidate will work closely with a Technical Project Manager to support a critical data engineering project integrated with an AI adoption program. The role requires managing cross-functional coordination across various departments, tracking key deliverables, and supporting platform and data engineering initiatives. You will ensure consistent alignment between business objectives, engineering requirements, and AI stakeholders to drive the project toward successful completion within complex enterprise environments.
The ideal candidate must possess a PMP certification and have at least 10 years of experience in senior-level project management roles, specifically within data-centric and cloud environments. Experience in healthcare data standards like FHIR, CCDA, and HL7 is highly desirable. This role demands proficiency in cloud platforms and project management tools like Jira, Azure DevOps, MS Project, or Smartsheet. Candidates must be local to Austin for onsite interviews and must be comfortable with a hybrid work schedule. The position involves high-level leadership, vendor management, and complex financial reporting including budgeting and resource forecasting.

Key Requirements
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is required and must be noted on the resume.
Minimum 10 years of experience leading technical projects or programs in data, analytics, and cloud environments.
10 years of experience leading data architecture, data modeling, and data warehousing initiatives from planning through delivery.
Proven ability to manage business intelligence, big data, and analytics projects in complex enterprise environments.
10 years of experience supporting healthcare data initiatives; familiarity with standards such as FHIR, CCDA, and HL7.
Working knowledge of SQL and database technologies to support project planning, estimation, and issue resolution.
Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for business and executive audiences.
Proven leadership skills managing cross-functional teams, vendors, and complex project timelines.
10 years of experience defining project scope, objectives, milestones, timelines, and success metrics.
Proficiency with project management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, MS Project, or Smartsheet.
Experience with project budgeting, forecasting, resource planning, and financial status reporting.
